Celebrating 2 Years with Toñi at DOS SETENTA
On January 16th, it marked 2 years since our colleague Toñi’s first day at DOS SETENTA.
After reviewing many profiles and interviewing young graduates, the topic of incentives for hiring profiles over 45 years old came up. We decided to give it a try… and we must admit we were a bit skeptical. After all, our company narrative as a tech, young team with an average age of 30 sounded pretty “cool” in informal chats. Probably, from repeating it so much, we had convinced ourselves of the common mantra in many digital marketing and development companies: “young, dynamic, and eager to learn…” and we doubted we’d find the perfect candidate through this approach.
But we decided to give it a chance. After several interviews, Toñi appeared, who also had some doubts about fitting into a tech-savvy, young company.
“I think I found the person,” Álvaro said after meeting her.
Within a few days, Toñi arrived at the office and in two hours “blew away” all of our preconceptions. She came with enthusiasm and drive we hadn’t seen before, and in less than 5 days she adapted to our workflow and brilliantly organized her area.
Yesterday, after two years with us, she thanked us for the opportunity and shared her sadness that, nowadays, many professionals her age seem “obsolete” and that they have nothing left to contribute to companies.
So, we want to use this post to thank TOÑI:
– For her professionalism and dedication.
– For her wisdom and strong work ethic.
– Even for the occasional “stern reminder” that kept us on track.
There’s so much to be grateful for! We hope her enthusiasm never fades and that she continues helping us believe year after year.
We also want to invite companies to value profiles like hers, because they have so much to contribute to the business landscape.
And finally, to all those over 45 who are looking for a job, never stop believing in yourselves!
